CEIMS Overview

CEIMS (China Equitable Information Management Service) is an independent non-governmental, non-profit organization with a core mission to provide a fair, transparent and trustworthy means of authenticating applications submitted by Chinese students to western universities. In support of this objective, CEIMS is also committed to researching the educational policies of Chinese high schools and universities on behalf of western university admissions officers seeking a firm basis to assess the true quality of Chinese applicants.

Member benefit #1

As part of the CEIMS membership package, all schools/ educational organizations that sign up will receive ten (10) document authentications. These may be used any time (during the course of an annual membership) a member received a suspicious document from a Chinese applicant, or when a member needs to gauge the true value of a particular achievement or award on a student's application. NOTE: for each additional document beyond the 10 included in this pacakge, there will be an additional charge of USD$20 per item.

Within this system, CEIMS members may freely use our support network and authentication expertise as needed, in order to expedate their processing of Chinese applicants.

Member benefit #2

CEIMS members also enjoy the following information resources:
  • A complete report about China's top high schools, containing: student numbers past and present; the school's ranking in its city/province; and the school's notable student programs. In addition, members will also receive an annual listing that ranks China's top high schools nationally, with details about each school's methodologies and educational policies.
  • An overview of China's main academic competitions that cuts through the marketing hype. Included are details of each competition's sponsors, number of participants, number and quality of prizes, media reports about each event, and an alanysis of how each competition benefits the annual winners.
  • Information about GAOKAO (the exam for entrance into Chinese universities). This report includes an analysis of how GAOKAO policies differ from western ones (including provincial variations); the subjects covered and how they are scored; the meaning and significance of scores; and a general overview of the system.
  • A newsletter that covers sudden changes in China's educational policies (at both the high school and university level), and also reports of fradulent activites committed by both Chinese students and schools.

Member benefit #3

CEIMS members also receive assistance disseminating information about their schools to tens of thousands of elite Chinese high school students (prime candidates for undergraduate study abroad). This is achieved via our Chinese web portals and newsletter services, which reach hundreds of elite Chinese high schools, and subsequently tens of thousands of quality students.


Membership fee

In order to provide a program of impeccable quality and efficiency to meet your needs, an annual membership fee of USD$260 is required.

Membership eligibility

All universities, colleges and vocational training schools may apply for a CEMIS membership. If you would like to apply, click the 'sign up' icon below, and then enter your details. Within 48 hours (factoring the time difference between China and the west), a CEIMS agent will contact you to clarify the payment procedures.
